ΣΤΟΧΟΙ ΤΗΣ ΗΜΕΡΙΔΑΣ
The purpose of this seminar is the joint training of gynecologists and colorectal surgeons in advanced surgical techniques with emphasis on the surgical anatomy of the pelvis and the retroperitoneal space. The interdisciplinary training of surgeons and gynecologists aims to promote knowledge sharing, familiarization with new techniques, and the development of solid teams within referral centers. The official language of the seminar is English and Greek.
On day one, we will begin with targeted presentations on anatomy and surgical techniques, a complete dissection of a cadaveric trunk with emphasis on pelvic surgical anatomy and anatomy related to oncologic surgery.
On day two, trainees in small mixed groups of gynecologists and surgeons will perform laparoscopically and then open, hysterectomy, abdomino-pelvic lymphadenectomy, pelvic peritonectomy and TAH-BSO en block with low anterior resection. Then, trainees will work on the upper abdomen with standard dissections as part of a complete cytoreductive operation. The groups of trainees will be assisted and guided by experienced gynecologic oncologists and colorectal surgeons.
